My (small) Anthropologie and Free People Post-Chistmas Haul

I can’t be the only one that ended up in a mall on December 26th, right? It’s considered a pastime in my family to shop, doesn’t even mean you have to buy anything, but browsing sale racks, getting steps in with a fresh latte in hand, and taking advantage of some of the best people-watching are some of mine and my mom’s favorite activities. So while I spent some time down in Florida for the holiday, she and I naturally ended up perusing the local mall. I picked up a few things, some of which I’d wanted for a while, others I found on a whim. Here’s what I picked up as a few fresh pieces to take me into early Winter.

Tweed Shell Vest from Anthropologie

This darling sky blue shell vest is new to Anthro and can easily be dressed up for a professional environment, layering with a white oxford and cream or navy slacks, or can transition nicely into warmer weather as a standalone piece with high-waist, wide-leg dark denim or even white denim as get closer to summer months. It comes in at $118, so a higher price point but a seasonally-agnostic and versatile piece.

Free People Lady Lux Layering Top

This piece has been on my wishlist for some time and I finally picked up a black one to pair with a black sweater vest and under a denim jumpsuit. I also can’t wait to layer a full-coverage black bralette underneath and stack a black blazer for a sleek weekend evening look. Again, another super versatile piece that comes in at a reasonable $40 price point. This comes in 22 different colors, so no matter what you’re trying to pair it with, you’ll certainly find a match.

Free People Grace Pullover

This sweater is part of Free People’s “free-est” line, an ultra-comfy collection of clothes created for the beach, but many of which you’ll be reaching for constantly in the colder winter months. While this piece isn’t work-friendly for me, I’ll certainly be sporting it on WFH days during the bitter cold 50s and 60s Austin sees this time of year (yes I’m only kidding, but hey, cold is relative!). I wore this home from my holiday travels with some flare yoga pants and white platform sneakers for an easy and comfortable travel look. At $78, I think this one is worth the higher price point with the chenille feel and perfectly oversized fit. I got this one in the Chutney color, but I’m tempted to also buy it in White Sands! I do have a rule about not buying things in more than one color, except for basics, so the chutney will have to do for now.
