My Ins and Outs for 2024: Ways I’m improving my health and house in the new year

Ins

1. Natural Nails: I’m kissing dip and gel goodbye and saying hello to au naturale nails! Let’s keep it real – because sometimes less is more, especially when it comes to rocking your own tips. However, I can’t help but yearn for more feminine nails when I’ve gone natural, so I’m leaning toward the use of a nail concealer. Here’s one I picked up to do my at-home manicures with a sheer color and vitamins that will help my ultra-thin nails get back to healthy.

2. House Projects: I’ve already dusted off my toolbox (okay let’s be real, I had to buy a lot of them) and unleashed my inner DIY guru by retiling my kitchen backsplash over my holiday break from work. And I didn’t even have to forfeit my Netflix bingeing; an entire season of Married at First Sight made the perfect background entertainment while I destroyed my kitchen. Next up, wallpaper in the powder room!

3. More Time Outdoors: Nature’s the new hotspot, folks! I’m looking forward to more trail walks, finally filling some planters in the backyard that I’ll be forced to get out and water, and finding activities that force a little fresh air in me. It’s time to soak up that vitamin D like my well-being depends on it – ’cause it kinda does. And I think Louie would appreciate this one too.

Outs

1. One-Time Outfits: RIP to the wear-it-once wonders. 2024 is all about curating a closet that says, “I’ve got style, and I’m not trashing the planet for it.” Sustainable chic is the new black, darling.

2. Alcohol: Shots Becky was a one-summer wonder that I’ve put to bed for good. It’s time to be the CEO of my liver and explore alternatives that won’t make me regret my life choices the next morning. Sometimes, though, just the act of having a drink in hand can help wind down from a rough work day, so I’m exploring some liquor alternative options. I’m a G&T girl and I can’t wait to try Ritual’s zero-proof gin alternative.

3. Aimless Shopping: I can admit that I did a bit of shopping out of boredom in 2023. What can I say, a fun Saturday for me is browsing the racks of new trends. In 2024, I’m saying no to impulse buys and embracing a more calculated approach to make purchases count – quality over quantity, because who needs a closet full of “meh” anyway?

So there you have it, the 411 on what’s hot and what’s not for me in 2024. Buckle up, remove your dip nails, and get ready to slay this year with some serious style and sass! 💅🏠🌳 What are yours?!
