Yes, yes, and a resounding yes. If you’re thinking about trying out a service like Rent the Runway, FashionPass or Nuuly, take it from me – this is the easiest, least expensive, and most sustainable way to have new items of clothing in your closet all the time. I’ve personally been using Rent the Runway consistently for over a year and half now and I rave about it to literally all of my friends. Designer clothes that I get to try out for as long as I like and when I’m ready for something new, I simply pick my new items in the app and drop the old ones on my doorstep for pickup. It’s actually that easy. I’ve also tried out Haverdash, FashionPass, and am about to try out Nuuly (owned by the Anthropologie and Free People group!). Depending on what you’re looking for, there’s definitely an option that works for your style, preference and budget.
What I pay for with Rent the Runway
I pay $144 per month for the 8-item plan. This means I get to pick four items at a time from the RTR closet to have at home. In that same month, I get one swap, so I can pick out a brand new set of four items, or if I’m loving something I have at home, it might be two or three items that I switch out. Either way, I get up to eight total items per month. You might have used Rent the Runway for a special event in college or for your cousin’s wedding, renting one dress at a time for an occasion, but now you can rent anything from business professional clothing all the way to luxury athleisure, all from popular, high-end designers like Reformation, Milly, Tory Burch, Maje, and many many more. I love getting the opportunity wear some items of clothing I would never think to purchase for myself due to their high price point. For under $150 per month I get to try out beautiful pieces without the stress of upkeep or feeling like it may not have been worth the high price tag.
Right now, you can subscribe to the 8-item plan for $99 for your first two months with code GETDRESSED. There are also 4-item and 16-item plans if another level suits your needs or budget.
Here are some pieces I’m eyeing for my next order:
I’m excited to try out Nuuly next and let you know how my first rental experience goes with them. Look out for a future post where I rank and rate different rental services based on my experience.
Au revoir for now! (Been watching too much Emily in Paris these days…)
